Lewis and Clark
BY:Jonathan Henderson

This book is about Lewis and Clark and how they embarked on this remarkable discovery of what they called(s) "The New World" { North America}

Some of you may already know about Lewis and Clark and their findings of "The New World". But the book go more in to the history of it by saying that at May 14,1804, is the day that they set out for their two year long journey. And if you don't that is real then tell it to their face because they have proof they have the journal. And back then they couldn't spell so common mistakes are okay like it says "shye and watchfull [shy and watchful]. Plus the journal has also some dates like on Monday 17,1804 They were traveling north on the Missouri River, and passing through the South Dakota. Well I'm afraid that's all I spill the beans on.

IF YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS BOOK AND L&C YOU CAN CHECK THIS OUT FROM MRS. ESTRADA.

George Washington Carver

I'm doing my report on George Washington Carver because he is my Idol and the only non-fiction book in the library I liked. George Washington Carver was an American scientst, botanist, educator and inventor whose studies and teaching revolutionized agriculture in the Southern United States. The day and year of his birth are unknown; he is believed to have been born before slavery was abolished in Missouri in January 1864 Much of Carver's fame is based on his research into and promotion of alternative crops to cotton, such as peanuts and sweet potatoes. He wanted poor farmers to grow alternative crops both as a source of their own food and as a source of other products to improve their quality of life. The most popular of his 44 practical bulletins for farmers contained 105 food recipes that used peanuts. He also created or disseminated about 100 products made from peanuts that were useful for the house and farm, including cosmetics, dyes, paints, plastics, gasoline, and nitroglycerin In the Reconstruction South, an agricultural monoculture of cotton depleted the soil, and in the early 20th century the boll weevil destroyed much of the cotton crop. Carver's work on peanuts was intended to provide an alternative crop.

In addition to his work on agricultural extension education for purposes of advocacy of sustainable agriculture and appreciation of plants and nature, Carver's important accomplishments also included improvement of racial relations, mentoring children, poetry, painting, and religion. He served as an example of the importance of hard work, a positive attitude, and a good education. His humility, humanitarianism, good nature, frugality, and rejection of economic materialism also have been admired widely.

One of his most important roles was in undermining, through the fame of his achievements and many talents, the widespread stereotype of the time that the black race was intellectually inferior to the white race. In 1941, Time magazine dubbed him a "Black Leonardo", a reference to the Renaissance Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci. To commemorate his life and inventions, George Washington Carver Recognition Day is celebrated on January 5, the anniversary of Carver's death.

The golden cowrie is a marine snail named for its brilliant orange shell.
It is among the largest of the world's 250 known cowrie species, reaching four in length. These mollusks are rare to find and, spend most of their lives hiding under rocks in the cracks and creases of reefs in the South Pacific.

Coral reefs in the Indian and Pacific Oceans are dying off much quicker than previously thought, a new study shows.

They come out only at night to feed on sponges and algae. And for the last few days the Coral Reefs vanashed more than one third, Indo-Pacific reefs have shrunk by 1 percent each year a loss equivalent to nearly 600 square miles . That makes the rate of reef loss about twice the rate of tropical rain forest loss. Twenty or 30 years ago reefs with a high cover of coral were fairly common. Today there are comparatively few reefs in the Indo-Pacific that we would traditionally think of as being pristine.

I am writing about my mommy's uncle John Matthew Finnin.

He was #38 Airborne. He served the military for 50 years or something like that. But he is always telling me and my mommy about every time we go over there and it is interesting. He says that he used to I think jump outta planes and things, bring food down to the soldiers and other really cool things. He still have pictures, hats, memories, and other cool things. But now he can hardly remember everything so we have to help him remember. But we all in my family look after him and look up to him. He is like a legend to us. Along side his brothers, most of them went to war and came back and are legends to us to. And my daddy also was in Korea for a war to and now he's here and also a legend to not only me but my whole family.

DRUG STORY

(This this a true story)
One dark night we were at my mothers uncle apartment and he was telling us about somebody that came and took his truck okay well maybe not took it but asked to take is for something. And he said he said it like this: He was just sitting down resting and for some reason someone was knocking at the door. He answered the door and there was this lady standing there and he obviously said hello and let her in. But he said she was smoking. And then she asked to use the truck. And he said yes because he is so nice but he should never had. Because the next day he couldn't remember where his truck is, but we think that he has Alzheimer's. But first of all back to the first day. He finished telling us about the what is soon to be a pandemic we didn't believe him. So the third day we went over there and he was mad and sad at the same time then he said he wanted that lady to bring his truck back. So we went looking for it and we asked all the cops to look for a golden Ford F-150 extended cab with a camper. And they all said no. Then he night fell and we were bushed and we went back to his house and said call the police and tell them to send a search party. Then we were on our way home and the police called us and they said they found it. They said it was wrecked and the lady who was driving was drunk and had cocaine in her purse and was using is while she was driving. I was there half tired and... every thing.
But what I learned to never let anybody use my car.

The scariest thing of my life!

First off I have to tell about the setting, so I was at the OUTDOOR SCHOOL in marble falls, right on the shore of Lake LBJ, mid afternoon and it was warm and cold at the same time. The ropes course is what it's called, (right picture) Wait I want to start from the beginning where it all begins.

It all started that night I couldn't go to sleep, and my friend Jason had to go pee. So he asked the teacher if he could go pee. And of course the said yes. Since I was the only one awake, and the one right below him in a bunk bed he asked me before he went back up to his bunk to get a flash light, I said sure and I also said you don't have to get a flash light because I have one under my pillow. So we walked to a dark, scary, and old, bathroom. So we walked hastily to the restroom part of the whole place, and we heard some thing that sounded like a faucet dripping like crazy. We started to tremble hard like almost live a movie rather Scooby Doo. Now It slows to were we can barley hear the noise any more, then suddenly we heard it again plop and then a drop, we didn't know what to do but then I flash my light over in the corner and it was an ugly frog. We got scared over this little frog and YUCK! It was pooing. (it looks like this)
And now for for the main thing. Really this is true. We were walking blah, blah, blah same thing as before up above but. We climbing well only people who wanted to go did. So I wanted to go try it and I did I was so high that I was In the air. But when I got up I in the air I was afraid and to scared to jump off or rather down. because I am heavy and those other people were as thin as a toothpick so I was afraid I might die. So everybody tried to get me down by saying your making us late to lunch and you a chicken. But within all that I said to myself I put my self in a pickle and a predicament. So I said that I can do this I can do this, then I said I can ine more time and I did.
THE END

And from there my grandma she always say ''NEVER GIVE UP!'' actually everybody say that but when it come from my grandma it's special i always get teary eyed.Well I can vaguely remember what my daddy says mostly fuss and, cuss huff and, puff. And well lots of people give me advice, but only some people give me the best advice

WHAT I THINK!

I think it is important because, What if your an adult and your having a problem you need to solve the problem more without physical contact with the other person. But thinking back about a kid and if you were in a disagreement you wouldn't try to hit them talk to them and solve the problem with words, because soon if not we will end up in either detention, suspension, jail/juvenile,and well nothing can be worse than that.

WHY?

Because if you don't listen you might losing a friend, and getting bruised, ending up getting a bad school rep., and other things more sever than that

HOW?

To stay outta trouble you must not ever cuss when in a fight then you'll be sorry, to prevent a fight never talk smack to a person, and to most importantly never ever get in to a fight. if in a fight you must always use you calm voice and talk to the person (of course if this don't work I DIDN'T SAY ANY THING.) And always try to stop it before it gets worse. and last never hit, or hit back the teachers always catch the second person, this is a word from the wise trust me on this.

My First Blog

I want to make a well... positive contribution for the whole world rather than just my community. First of all I would like the world to be cleaner than what it is way better than what it is, next I plan to cut out smoking, less use of gas, oil, coal, and other natural resource. because if we keep spreading these habits to generation, to generation, we won't have smart young people any more, we won't have nature any more, then we wont have clean air any more, then we won't have the future that most people plan. and what is that is a clean future no mire gangs, and no more graffiti, no more power plants, no more pollution coming from pricey gas guzzlers that burn fuel and make even more pollution, and more hybrid cars, more solar panels, more Eco friendly things that is what we need for a healthier, safer environment. I plan to accomplish this by spreading this massage and start doing the things my self and setting an example to people, and protesting. I will die trying or not do it at all. I really think I should have a goal and a plan and a goal because, I would know what my standards are and expectations.
